And the game plot is about a Saniwa sage traveling back in time and bringing swords to life in order to defeat evil bad guys who want to change history.
◎ Is the character a hacker and/or do they have a sixth-sense? Not a hacker, but as a tsukumogami, he most likely has a sixth sense!
◎ Personality:
Nakigitsune is described in the official Touken Ranbu twitter as a taciturn boy who lets his accompanying fox relay most of his feelings. This can be easily noticed in-game; the unnamed fox speaks practically everything in his stead, with Nakigitsune himself simply offering supporting comments most of the time. His refusal to speak isn't due to any lack of emotion or dislike of company - rather, he's shy and unsure how to deal with people. Having been kept as a display piece for the 700+ years since the day he was made (passed down through a rich family and then on to a museum), he has had little to no experience with not just people, but most things in the outside world.
Nakigitsune can also be considered to be rather naive, due to his never having gone outside, let alone experienced the battles that many (if not all) of the other swords have. His fox describes him as getting easily attached to anyone with a fox-related name, for example - it's easier for him to reach out to people when he feels some sort of connection with them, and inexperienced as he is in the ways of the world, names are one of the easiest (and most accessible) things for him to connect with. Aside from the easy attachment (and being described as helpless when he's sleeping), he also gets anxious when left alone, the fox worriedly wondering aloud where their master has gone if left idle for a certain period of time. Interestingly enough though, the fox's presence acts as a sort of confidence booster for Naki: the few lines he speaks himself hold no hesitation, and on occasion he even sounds almost cocky, though his tone is a very straightforward one. ("That's right. Were you surprised?") He's not afraid to say the few things he does, because the fox is there to clarify for him. This can also work against him, as losing the fox means he's at a total loss for words.
Innocence, awkwardness, and naivete aside, Nakigitsune is an honest and hardworking person, as evidenced by the general tone of his lines: the fox describes him as working hard in all the available household chores (farmwork, horsekeeping, sparring) while the fox itself does nothing of use (because it's a fox). Likewise, they show an active interest in doing well both on and off the battlefield, the fox cheering him on in battle and encouraging the team to assist in scouting, or touting his negotiation abilities when you visit the shop. This willingness to work helps offset his lack of experience, if only a little.
The fox itself is an excitably talkative creature with a tendency to put on a sort of salesman attitude, advertising his companion as if he were a ware for sale rather than a person (because he is an object, after all) and often using phrases you might hear on an infomercial. ("Now then, the number one most dramatic turn-around is about to begin. Watch closely!") Nevertheless, he and Nakigitsune share a mutual bond of trust that's hard to describe in words (as stated by the official twitter). The boy protects his fox, and the fox speaks for him - even if his interpretation might not be entirely correct, he generally gets the idea across. He also seems to hold some sort of parental feelings towards Nakigitsune, commenting on how moved he is on the one single instance Naki speaks unprompted, constantly talking up his achievements or strengths whenever possible, and worrying over him when he's hurt or otherwise indisposed (though his lack of ability to do very much means all he can really do when Nakigitsune is seriously injured is cheer him on or fix his own fur.)
◎ Powers/Abilities: As a sword spirit (particularly of an uchigatana), he's an expert at fighting with a sword! He's pretty strong, though his abilities tend to focus more on speed than strength. Also, he'll die if his sword breaks, as the sword is his real body.

[As if on cue, a fox appears! It quickly climbs up onto Nakigitsune's shoulder, nuzzling his (still-masked) face.]
Are you alright? You weren't accosted by any strangers, were you? It's dangerous to wander these unfamiliar streets alone!
...I'm fine.
[The fox keeps chattering at him (yes, that's the fox talking) as he quietly turns off the feed.]
