Disposition:
Nervous - Mei Nianqing is a cautious man who constantly fusses over details and worries over how things might go wrong; being basically a fortuneteller by trade, he puts great stock in the fortunes he reads, and will repeatedly warn against trying to ignore the decrees of fate. He nearly has a meltdown when changes are made to the parade he'd organized without his knowledge, and when he meets a small child his calculations deem to be the personification of bad luck, he leaps back as if simply being in proximity with the kid might kill him and everyone he loves.

Caring - He warns because he cares, and cares deeply; he gives Xie Lian advice a variety of times throughout the book, even going as far as giving a motherly lecture on the dangers of good girls boys falling for bad boys, and has no qualms against telling the cold hard truth if he feels the listening party needs or deserves to know. He treats one of the Four Calamities of the undead realm the way a disapproving mother might treat her daughter's chosen beau, sniffing with disapproval even when the man is literally carrying him over rivers of lava, and ultimately chooses to stay with Jun Wu - his first chosen prince - when everyone else leaves him behind for what may possibly be the rest of eternity.

Easily Engrossed - This man is incredibly bad at card games, but if you give him a pack of cards he will play for hours, just hoping for that single win he's sure to get next game...or the next...or maybe the one after that....

Loyal - Mei Nianqing was originally a follower of Jun Wu, and ultimately never fully gave up that loyalty, even after all the betrayal and pain he's gone through. Despite running from his prince for centuries, he heads a shrine in his name when living as Xie Lian's teacher; when he gets captured centuries later, he makes no excuses and doesn't try to run again, even trying to reason with him and calling for him to stop when he sees Jun Wu edging nearer and nearer to his own downfall. He never does anything to hurt either Jun Wu or Xie Lian, his only sin being that he ran from Jun Wu all those years ago, and that's something he ultimately chooses to make up for, no matter what that might take.

Suitability: Mei Nianqing would be somewhat appalled by the idea of needing intimacy for health or power or what-have-you, though he'd manage to reason his way through it quickly enough, deciding his boundaries and moving on with those in mind. The powers wouldn't be a concern either, so much as the gem that supposedly gives them - he's not the type to hurt himself to try to get out of it, but he'd definitely try to get as much information as possible about what the heck his situation is and how much he should be worried! To sum it all up, he's going to whine and worry at first but practicality and time will have him calming down pretty quickly once he's gotten settled. He's too old to freak out more than that.

Condition upon arrival: Sound of mind and body, confused enough to follow along with general intro stuff, will probably start doing the equivalent of calling for the manager if given enough time to acclimate

- Telepathic communication (only with others capable of the same trick; think Discord, But Psychic)
- Divination (not as useful when in an entirely different star system, but)
- Puppet Creation (these are full-size figures which look, sound, and act exactly like real human beings, though they don't have any real powers, are physically hollow, and are limited in the actions/lines they can perform)
- Spiritual powers (barrier creation, magical hand torches, etc)
