Personality: Mist is an outgoing and helpful person, willing to help anyone, be they friends, strangers, or monsters. It's Mist who offers her own farm to Raguna the day he comes to Kardia, giving him not only the farmland, but also the house, some tools, and (turnip) seeds to start him off, as well as offering advice whenever the occasion comes up. This helpfulness applies even when she doesn't necessarily have anything to give; when Raguna later finds her in Trampoli Village, she yet again offers him a house and land, despite not owning either. (Luckily the actual owner is alright with it.) You can see her kindness extending to monsters as well, asking Raguna to help send them back to their home, and cheerfully allowing a duck to nest in her garden (Rune Factory is a world where everything from dragons to livestock is considered a potentially dangerous monster).
Helpfulness aside, Mist is also considered strange by everyone who mentions her, a fact which may quickly be understood simply through speaking with her yourself. She has a spontaneous personality, acting on her thoughts no matter how random they may be, and often taking things seriously which other people wouldn't. The best example of this may be the premise for Frontier: after living her entire life in Kardia, one night she hears a voice in her dreams which seems to be asking for help. She disappears from town the next day, without a word to anyone, and moves permanently into Trampoli Village, with the idea that she may be able to find and aid the source of the voice there. Other strange moments include seriously mentioning a dream she had about chicks and their troubles with seniority, or saying "So you've come at last!" for no particular reason when Raguna shows up. Add to this the fact she's obsessed with turnips (giving turnip seeds as presents, hinting that she'd like some turnips, looking unhappy when Rosetta finds turnips in the shipping box, wearing a turnip mask instead of a pumpkin for the RF equivalent of Halloween, sneaking a book on how to grow turnips onto Raguna's bookshelf, etc). She's something of an airhead as well, often leaving after an explanation only to come back with something she'd forgotten, whether that be a trivial comment about the rain, or the present of a useful spellbook. She offers to give Raguna an empty bottle at one point, only to admit she's forgotten where she put it, and lets him search her house for it.
Mist is actually a very intelligent person, despite her airheaded attitude. Aside from offering detailed farming advice, and being frightfully good at getting what she wants from people (like getting a free house in Trampoli), she is also knowledgeable in the workings of her world (where monsters come from, how magic works, etc), and follows Raguna to the bottom of every dungeon he visits in an effort to solve the mystery of what's going on. Likewise, she knows perfectly well her own lack of fighting ability, instead offering advice to Raguna where she can. Sadly, knowing herself doesn't mean she has particularly good social skills, and she often voices out loud the things nobody else in the room is willing to say (such as Zavier having been totally uselessly unhelpful in Toros Cave, or Melody's lava ruins bathhouse being an incredibly bad idea). These things are said without any malice though; she's simply stating facts, and tends to shrug off any resentment she gets from it. She's also totally oblivious to Zavier's very obvious crush on her, a fact which genuinely surprises Raguna. Mist can be kind of casually manipulative too, always giving turnip seeds to Raguna, hinting at how presents (such as turnips) can raise people's affection towards you, or convincing innocent amnesiacs that working her field for her is totally the way to get your memories back, you can do it Raguna, also mow my lawn for me please, etc etc he can apparently never say no... She tends to pull people into her pace, making it difficult for Raguna to argue when she invites him to move to Trampoli, and leaving Rosetta - who grew up with her - to just shake her head and not bother questioning whatever she happens to do or say. Whatever she does though, she always means well, and aside from the occasional joke, her words are always genuine.
In all, Mist is a girl who cares deeply about the land and people around her, willing to go through monster-infested areas in order to find the answers to their problems, and kind enough to offer everything but the clothes on her back to someone else in need. She honestly worries about the monster infestations around Kardia, both for the sake of the people as well as the monsters themselves; actually, it can be assumed she may have some nature-related powers of her own, considering her kind attitude toward monsters (she never once mentions them as a danger, and even comments that Raguna must feel really safe with them watching over him in the caves), and her ability to get through even the most dangerous dungeons without a scratch (a fact Raguna gives up questioning after she shows up in the boss room of the third or fourth cave).
Skills/Abilities: - Able to tame or otherwise avoid aggression from all but the most belligerent of monsters
- Sensitive to magical energies and the balance of nature
- Knows a lot of turnip recipes
