CHARACTER
NAME: Shen Jiu (Last name first)
CANON: Scum Villain's Self-Saving System
CANON POINT: pre-canon
AGE: 14
SPECIES: Human
INFORMATION: wiki because i'm tired
CHARACTER PITCH: Shen Jiu is the tweenage equivalent of a feral street cat who got cornered by the meanest kid on the block and judging by the hissing going on, is going to scratch someone's face off any minute. He's angry, he's defensive, he is the Exact Opposite of trusting, and at this young age he's already well on his way to becoming a total man-hater. Men suck! Can't trust those guys!
That aside, he was raised a streetrat, and as such is well-versed in the arts of
POWERS: Shen Jiu at 14 has no recognizable powers to speak of, but like a cooler version of baby Harry Potter, he does have innate powers which he's managed, without any education of any kind, to control enough that he can make the random things he picks up sharp at will, and maybe make things float if he focuses really hard. With actual training though, he can potentially control his qi to do all the usual cultivator things like flying on swords, shooting energy blasts, delayed aging, a lessened need for physical nutrients...his potential has been severely handicapped by the abuse he's suffered the past few years, but he'll still grow to be a reasonably powerful fighter.
QUESTIONNAIRE
What is the worst or most malicious thing your character has ever done? How do they feel about it now? Was this sort of action typical of them? At this point in his life, the worst thing he's ever done is probably beating up/threatening murder against small orphans for such small trespasses as intruding on his self-proclaimed territory or hogging the attention of his (also self-proclaimed) brother...while he was an equally small orphan at the time, this sort of behavior is absolutely typical of him, and he feels no guilt whatsoever.
What is the most altruistic or selfless thing your character has ever done? How do they feel about it now? Was this sort of action typical of them? Once upon a time he threw himself into the center of attention by attacking a nobleman's horse, in order to stop said nobleman from trampling his brother (and the kid his brother was trying to save from, again, the nobleman). At this point in his life he does occasionally regret it, depending on how he's feeling when you ask him, and definitely thought of other ways he could have avoided the trouble (like keeping Qi-ge from running off like an idiot in the first place). While self-sacrifice isn't typical of him, defending himself and his own certainly is, so...a little of both, on that point?
What do they desire above all else? How far would they go to accomplish their goals or fulfill those desires? Do they have lines they wouldn't cross? What Shen Jiu desires above all else is stability: Regular meals, a warm bed, his brother safe by his side, the potential of going through a whole day without getting beaten. This is a concept he doesn't quite recognize though, so what he wants on a surface level is to become strong enough that nobody can ever hurt him and he can do whatever he wants without consequences. He's willing to go as far as it takes to reach that goal - canonically he must have studied and trained harder than anyone else in his age group to go from "uneducated teenager in an elementary school classroom" to "valedictorian speech giver" (or the cultivation equivalent)...and while he hasn't killed anyone yet at this age, once that line's been crossed the general sentiment will be that he'd rather not, but will if it comes down to it.
GAME DETAILS
LEGACY: Firebrand - he will fight tooth and nail for his freedom, and will tear down anyone he perceives as a threat to his own sense of well-being. The only thing keeping him from turning completely corrupt is loyalty to a boy he's now decided is probably dead.
INTRODUCTORY SECT: Pleroma - his dream in canon was to join a righteous sect and fight for the common people, and while his hope may be fading at this point, it hasn't totally died just yet.
SUITABILITY: I tend to not to plan out the future when I app into games, so I can't say anything resembling concrete for Jiu's plans, but he's a goal-oriented fighter who's made loyalty into his one greatest weakness, so whichever faction manages to win that loyalty (or whichever single member of that faction, more likely) will get someone literally willing to do Absolutely Anything for the sake of the team...except for actually getting along with the team. More importantly, I want him to cause problems on purpose. Maybe learn how to be friendly?
