C/Lan Historinfo!

The whole story of Volume 4, condensed into three paragraphs. I could add his adult info too, I guess, since that'd probably be just another sentence or two. Ah well.

C was born one of three triplets who were gifted with the ability to manipulate technology. Children with these powers were called Clovers, and were taken by the military for what was called the Clover Project, headed by a group called The Wizards. The Clovers were classified according to the strength of their powers, level 4 being highest; therefore, as level 3 children, the triplets were labeled "3-leafs" and tattooed appropriately with a barcoded 3-leaf clover. They were called A, B and C, Lan being C, and were imprisoned in a lab called "The Cage" to prevent contact with the outside world, as they were considered dangerous.

Now, A had unstable emotions. He also liked C. Because of this, he killed B out of jealousy for taking C's attention away from him. Some time after this event, A decided they should team up to kill the Wizards; instead, C left. A didn't stop him, thinking he'd come back, and C managed to get far into the city before the soldiers caught up with him. He killed them, but the long walk through the rain, added to the overuse of his powers, exhausted him. He collapsed, and was found by a soldier named Gingetsu, who was a two-leaf.

After C had convinced both the Wizards and A to let him stay away from his brother and outside the Cage, Gingetsu gained extra permission to be his caretaker. In order to get this permission, he had to have a kill device implanted into his brain, because the two of them together could destroy the Wizards. He also, a while after that, gave C a new name. Lan has been confined to Gingetsu's apartment ever since, as he is still not allowed outside, and is very content with his situation.
